Ideal for 2D directional contour milling applications, the Square T4-08 Helical excels in machining challenging materials such as cast iron, steel and stainless steels. Its strong, reliable pocket seats combined with multi-edge inserts optimise cutting stability and allow for clean 90-degree walls. The inserts mount tangentially in the cutter so that the cutting forces impact the thickest parts of the inserts, allowing manufacturers to achieve the required levels of strength for increased depths of cut with small diameters.
In addition to its high metal removal rates and cost effective operations, users will also benefit from the Square T4-08 Helical’s versatility. Variations include normal pitch for slotting and contouring operations and close pitch for contouring only. The Square T4-08 is available in M08 and MD08 insert geometries, and four grades including the new MS2050, which joins the MP3000, MK2050 and F40M options. Various mounting types include Seco-Capto?, Weldon, Arbor and Combimaster? heads.
The tool has cutting diameters that range from 25 mm (1.0") to 54 mm (2.0") and depths of cut between 22 mm (0.87") and 64 mm (2.52"). Corner radii ranges from 0.02" (0.4 mm) to 0.063" (1.6 mm). Furthermore, the entire Square T4-08 Helical range has integrated through-coolant channels to provide extended tool life.
